When looking to buy their first home, consumers new to the housing market are flooded with information foreign to them. Consumers feel overwhelmed by making this investment and are uneducated about the process involved to purchase a home.

How we help
Homebody is designed to guide users through the process on how to start finding their perfect new home. We want to answer the big question: "Where do I Start?".
With reliable resources to help educate users on basic home-buying principles and processes, home buyers can feel confident and excited about buying a home rather than stressed and intimidated. Services offered include glossaries, tools and calculators, as well as a step-by-step customizable checklist to push users closer to their goal.
User research and Insights
From the data found in the survey, we found out direct competitor to be Zillow. The data to our Competitive Analysis can be found here.
The Proto-Persona created in Miro was created to give our team an idea of the target audience our team was catering Homebody for.
Several interviews and a survey were conducted to see how users were currently finding resources for home-buying. The basic need that was not being met was that first-time homebuyers were unsure of where to even begin looking…or what they were even supposed to know.
Empathy
From the data collected, our team created several deliverables including an Affinity Diagram, and User Persona to help guide us in next steps of designing the perfect solution for our users.
User Testing
We have conducted 2 user testing sessions on initial stage of creating an app and 5 user testing sessions on a mockup stage which gave us better understanding of user flow while using Homebody App.
Key Takeaways
After testing our prototype our team had quickly realised the pros and cons of the starter app. We began ideating and adapting in our IOS prototype based upon our user testing responses.
Our main goal was to educate and guide users who are generally new to home buying process.
